To freeze the action I used an SB-29s ring flash mounted on a 24-85mm Nikkor lens. To timing of the shots was trial and error. Because the objects move too quickly for the camera to register on continuous shooting mode and the recycle time of the flash being close to 4 seconds, I could only take only one shot per drop.
